Once a carpenter’s workshop, this Trastevere loft kept its bones — the beams, the scale, the generous northern light. We added little and removed much.

New plaster walls meet the existing timber structure with a deliberate roughness. Shadow is treated as a material: deep reveals, recessed lighting, and a single tall window frame the day.

The loft is a study in restraint — plaster, wood, and shadow, held in careful balance.
